Susu Xu was trained in Industrial Design program in Central Saint Martins for two years and received D&AD Product Design and Innovation Awards 2005 – Commendation Prize before she graduated. Without a firm design industry background, but a strong interest in science, she didn't have a clue of what she wanted to do. As she was young and energetic, she put herself in quite varied area to see the real art and design industry in London and tried to find out which industry suits her the best to develop her design career leading by her interest in science and nature. During these three and half years, Susu was employed in Ceramic (Liz Emtage Ceramic Studio), Art Promotion (Hames Levack Ltd), Art Dealing ( P.H.F.A.), Sculpture (Danny Lane Studio), and Exhibition Design (Event Communication). Now she is going to work in Furniture design department for Zaha Hadid. Her current interest goes to oriental ink / watercolor painting and Chinese philosophy.
