Lei Liu graduated from Beijing Fashion and textile institute, with at B.A .degree in Fashion design in 2002, and obtained a masters degree in fashion in 2004 from UCCA Rochester. Since 2000 she has worked professionally as fashion designer and won the most talented designer award from 20 other international designers in ‘Shanghai international young fashion designer show case’ 2006. Currently Lei is Head of pattern cutter and sample room manger for fashion brand Ossie Clark as well as Working as design consultant and creative pattern cutter for a new fashion brand TOFU (an independent boutique located in Covent Garden). She recently launched Y.id fashion studio, specialized in women casual wear, the studio released two collections per year with multiple function and urban street style.

Y.id A/W 2005 Collection
Through the use of poppers, each garment attempts new forms and new shapes of distortion, so the garment deconstructs into unfinished aesthetics, and waits for the wearer to get involved with the fashion by experiment, to create a new look.
