CDR is delighted to invite you to the Chinese Visual Festival 2011 (30th June-15th July) organised by China Cultural Connect.

The Chinese Visual Festival (www.chinesevisualfestival.org) is a twin art festival dedicated to promoting Chinese independent documentary making partnering 10 short documentaries shown at Birkbeck and South Bank Universities with a video art and photographic exhibition entitled Lost in Transformation at 17 Dorset Square, Marylebone.
Both exhibition and film tell untold stories with unknown faces looking at the life of children, economic recession, industrial work (Mask Changing- A letter to Antonioni, director Pan Jun, show on 7th July at London South Bank University) and the Chinese love of Shakespeare (For the Love of Shakespeare, director Zhu Chunguang, shown on 2nd Jul at Birkbeck Cinema). The exhibition Lost in Transformation (1st – 15th Jul Dorset Square) joins the documentary films in presenting unique perspective and the images and videos talk back to the documentaries in agreeing or disagreeing voices.
